Theater Storytime With Ali Stroker and Stacy Davidowitz

June 25, 11 am.

Presented in collaboration with Lincoln Center as part of the Summer for the City programming.

Lincoln Center’s free Storytime programming returns at Summer for the City—and, due to continued popular demand, we have scheduled two readings every Wednesday! Curated by The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts—which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year—Storytime events feature a children’s book reading accompanied by live music, dance, or theater, engaging kids of all ages. Broadway star Ali Stroker and middle grade author Stacy Davidowitz take their audience on a musical theater journey inspired by their co-authored book, The Chance to Fly. The book tells the story of a theater-loving girl who uses a wheelchair for mobility and her quest to defy expectations… and gravity! Together they will sing from Wicked, perform a scene from their novel, facilitate interactive theater games, chat about the importance of representation in the arts, and answer audience questions. In this Storytime aimed at children ages 0-6, Stroker and Davidowitz offer a glimpse into the joys of expression through song and dance, and bringing stories to life with friends
