The Roslyn Bypass is one of the most significant components of Long Island’s surface transportation network. Stretching from the Village of Flower Hill at its west end to the Village of Roslyn at its east end, this stretch of Northern Boulevard (Route 25A) has been compared over the years to New Jersey’s famed Pulaski Skyway. Its construction eliminated one of the worst traffic bottlenecks on Long Island.

Join us on Thursday, May 29 to hear author Mitchell Schwartz discuss his new book, The Pulaski of Roslyn: The History of the William Cullen Bryant Viaduct and the Roslyn Bypass. Hear the story behind this vital stretch of highway and discover its history, the engineering behind it, how it relieved severe congestion in a charming community on the North Shore of Long Island, and helped foster the transformation of Roslyn and the greater area into a thriving, world-renowned suburb of New York City.

Copies of Schwartz’s book will also be made available for purchase at the event and a book signing will take place following the presentation.
