Opening Reception for “Crossings”, First Street Gallery Artists Summer Exhibition

FIRST STREET GALLERY is pleased to present Crossings, an exhibition of paintings by six First Street Gallery artists. The exhibition runs from July 16 to August 9, 2025. The opening reception is Thursday August 17, 6-8 PM.

Among its many meanings, the word “Crossings” can imply a journey of some sort, either internal or external. “Crossings” indicates going from one place to another, sometimes crossing over to safer ground, both literally and metaphorically. It would be natural to assume that all artists encounter “crossings” of different kinds throughout their lives and especially in their works. Artistic growth and the courage to travel beyond familiar boundaries surely represent the most daring kind of crossing an artist can experience.
