Jewish Food Society’s Schmaltzy Storytelling Event at JCC Manhattan

The Jewish Food Society presents “The Story That Changed My Life,” a live taping of their award-winning storytelling podcast, Schmaltzy. Hear original stories and readings from authors and comedians, followed by a lively roundtable discussion with Schmaltzy host Amanda Dell.
In addition to the taping, enjoy bites inspired by the stories, created by chef Mushka Haskelevich (Mushka in the Market) and a Schmaltzy welcome cocktail by beverage consultant Pam Wiznitzer (The Jewish Bartender).
Confirmed guests include Jerry Saltz, Senior Art Critic at New York Magazine, author/comedian Josh Gondelman (NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me), who will share an original story about his grandfather being too nice at a friendly dinner, and author Alyssa Shelasky, who will read a chapter from her new book, This Might Be Too Personal. Book signing to follow.
