TTOR Helping Hands Ministry and TTOR Men’s Ministry cordially invite you to a FREE community training on opioid misuse and addiction.

In response to the increased opioid and stimulant usage by African Americans and Hispanics, we have joined with community and faith partners to help address the emerging threat to communities of color. We are excited to collaborate on the delivery of community training focused on addressing opioid misuse and addiction.

  • Learn how to become a better and more engaged listener
  • Discover new ways to connect, empathize and support effectively

Active listening is an important skill in reaching out to a friend or family member who is battling substance misuse.  This training uses the real play method to teach participants how to have a potentially difficult conversation with someone who has a substance use problem.  Participants will learn how to be better and more engaged listeners.

Our expert instructor is Nurse Maria Jeanniton, a passionate advocate and expert in providing critical care to vulnerable populations.  She has over 25 years of clinical and managerial experience and over 15 years of experience in acute home care.
