Hearth & Harvest

On Wednesday, September 17, Collective Retreats Governors Island will host “Hearth & Harvest,” a one-night-only, open-fire culinary experience featuring the renowned Brooklyn-based Chef Tomer Blechman.

Limited to 70 guests, this intimate multi-course, family-style feast will take place on the resort’s expansive Great Lawn, complete with fire pits and breathtaking views of Downtown Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor, offering attendees the rare opportunity to indulge on Governors Island after dark.

Known for his soulful Mediterranean flavors, imaginative approach to wood-fired cuisine and recent Michelin Guide acclaim, Chef Tomer Blechman of Miss Ada, Nili, Thea and Theodora, will curate the open-fire menu designed to cultivate connection, ignite the senses and celebrate the transition from late summer into fall.

In addition to craft cocktails from Yola Mezcal, guests can expect dry-aged fish, tomahawk steaks, charred vegetables, and inventive pairings, rooted in smoke and seasonality, served off open-flames and carved table-side for an immersive culinary experience.

For those interested in extending the evening, guests may book an overnight stay in a perfectly appointed tent, cabin or suite as part of the “Hearth & Haven” package which includes post-dinner fireside s’mores, espresso martinis and stargazing, along with complimentary breakfast and yoga the following day.

In addition to this signature event, Collective Retreats Governors Island offers exquisite outdoor dining experiences throughout the season. The property’s Three Peaks Lodge recently debuted a vibrant new menu led by Chef Abdullah Head, blending contemporary American flavors with global influences — with standout dishes including coal roasted oysters, the lobster & crab roll, Korean short ribs, and the porterhouse for two. The Sunset Terrace bar and Three Peaks Restaurant are open to both overnight guests and island visitors starting at 3 PM daily.
