Dedication of New Dr. Frank Mickens Mural & Free Community Celebration

The Bedford-Stuyvesant community will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Frank Mickens, the transformative former principal of Boys and Girls High School, with the dedication of a new mural by acclaimed artist Uncuttart. Commissioned by community leader Vaughn “Buddha Chief” Jefferson, the artwork stands as a lasting tribute to Dr. Mickens’ impact on education and community pride. Day’s activities include Fitness for Business, Health for Wealth, Alumni Mural Signing, Legacy Testimonials, and a Sip & Stoop hosted by the 800 Lafayette Block Association. Jefferson will also announce the launch of his new nonprofit, The C.U.R.E.-R.A.T.E.R. (Community Unification Resource Enterprise Revitalizing Awareness To Educate Righteousness).
