Composers Concordance Presents – The Fiddlers

On Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 7 p.m. at NUBLU, Composers Concordance presents The Fiddlers, featuring violinists Daisy Castro, Jason Hwang, Dave Soldier, and Mazz Swift, backed by Gene Pritsker (guitar), Laurence Goldman (bass), and Damien Bassman (drums).

The program includes premieres of Witness (Pritsker), Blurred (Bogojevic), and Callisto (Castro), plus works by Cooper, Goldman, Hwang, Soldier, and Swift. Part of the Timbre Tantrum series, the event also features the Eoin O’Mara Group.

Castro blends Jazz Manouche with global influences. Hwang’s work reflects his cultural heritage and has earned international acclaim. Soldier, a multi-genre artist, co-founded the Thai Elephant Orchestra and has collaborated with icons like Bo Diddley. Swift, a Juilliard-trained violinist, infuses improvisation and African American musical traditions into their compositions.
