Climate Change is Scary with Saad Amer

Poster House, the first museum in the United States dedicated to the global history of posters, will welcome internationally renowned climate activist Saad Amer.

In honor of Halloween, Saad Amer will be sharing his global perspective on something scarier than the spooky holiday, climate change. Saad Amer will be discussing climate activism and the role posters and graphic design play in tackling climate change. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes and best costume will receive a free 1-year membership to Poster House.

Saad Amer is an environmentalist, climate justice activist and the Founder of Justice Environment, a social impact consultancy helping businesses, nonprofits and governments navigate climate change and the just transition. He is a consultant to the United Nations and served as an Expert Reviewer for a recent IPCC report. As one of the country’s most prolific voting rights organizers, he has reached millions and created campaigns featuring the likes of Vice President Al Gore, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Taylor Swift. He has researched the impacts of climate change on the ground in the Indian Himalayas funded by USAID, co-created Harvard University’s inaugural Sustainability Plan, and discovered a new hybrid species in French Polynesia. He has written for National Geographic, PBS and the World Bank, and has spoken at the United Nations, US Department of State and TEDx. He went to Harvard University where he studied Environmental Science and Public Policy with a minor in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology. He was a Fellow at Yale University’s Public Voices on the Climate Crisis with The OpEd Project.
