Carlos Prescod Memorial

April 12, 9 amnoon.
Free
Sons of Carlos 7

Just about five years ago, we lost a very committed and dear friend of our community,

Carlos D. Prescod. His sudden passing occurred during the Covid-19 lockdown which did not

afford for us to experience a traditional service with our brother. While the name Carlos Prescod may live on in our hearts for years and generations to come, we’ve decided with the permission of the family to honor his name with a Memorial Service & Concert on Saturday April 12th, 2025. This service will allow a moment for us to come together & celebrate a great life that God blessed us with the privilege of knowing.

Carlos dedicated over 50 years of his life to the music ministries of the Episcopal Diocese

of Long Island with over 20 years spent at The Church of St. Marks in Crown Heights, Brooklyn

NY. His roles spanned from Organist & Choir Director, Educator, Enrichment Program Founder,

Special Events Committee Chairperson, Beautillion & Cotillion Coordinator to name a few.

Throughout the diocese he organized several concerts with members of various churches to help raise funds. Carlos as well curated Black History Month events at courthouses within Kings

County to which he did several projects with the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office specifically

catering to the youth. He was a senior mentor in the DA’s Officer Partnership Program as well.

This is only a minor synopsis to the life and legacy lived by Mr. Prescod. At this time, we

are inviting you to share in this service to make this occasion special and fitting for our departed

brother. Your attendance in celebrating with our community will help continue to speak the

volumes and magnitude of the life, service and dedication of a life well lived.
