Brooklyn’s Finest: Legends in Focus

Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso presents Brooklyn’s Finest: Legends in Focus, a Black History Month photo installation celebrating Brooklyn’s pivotal role in the evolution of hip-hop culture and the arts. The exhibition opens on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Brooklyn Borough Hall, located at 209 Joralemon Street in Brooklyn, and will remain open to the public through the end of February.

The installation features works by Jamel Shabazz, Barron Claiborne, Johanna Fiore, Mike Schreiber, Sarah A. Friedman, Matthew Salacuse, Lisa Leone, and Justin Jay. The evening will also include a live talk hosted by Dawton Thomas, with Kierra Mayo, Sheena Lester, Larry “The Blackspot” Hester, and Tony Cervino.

Additional programming includes a special guest appearance by Fab 5 Freddy, a presentation of A Song for Life, and live DJ sets throughout the evening. The installation is curated by Jonathan Rheingold.
