Bahamian-Dominican Playwright Joshua W. Josey Unveils WEAVERS—A Mother–Son Story at the Breaking Point—at the CSP New Works Fest

Dec. 5, 7 – 9 pm. Dec. 6, 5:30 – 7:30 pm.
$30

Conch Shell Productions (CSP), the New York–based company dedicated to uplifting Caribbean and Caribbean Diaspora voices, proudly presents WEAVERS, a gripping new play by Bahamian-Dominican playwright Joshua W. Josey, at the CSP New Works Fest 2025, presented in partnership with HB Studio.

A Caribbean Story Rooted in Faith, Identity & Family

In Weavers, a long-awaited visit between a mother and son begins with familiar humor but quickly spirals into emotional revelation. As laughter gives way to psychological unraveling, old guilt, illness, loneliness, and clashing belief systems surface—forcing both to confront the threads that hold them together and the ones tearing them apart.

Promo Quote from Playwright Joshua W. Josey:
“Weavers explores the depth of a mother and son’s love when the son’s identity collides with his mother’s faith.”
