Whether you’re brand-new to bird feeding or just looking for fresh tips, this family-friendly class will help you roll out the welcome mat for your neighborhood birds—safely and responsibly.

what type of bird food to offer and when (suet vs. seed) seasonal selections

different diets to attract different types of birds

feeding only the birds (deter racoons, squirrels, bear, rodents)

various types of feeders

where to place your feeders (safe distance from home)

how often to clean your feeders and with what cleaning solutions

birdwatching, identification, binocular basics

In 45 minutes, whether you’re a first-time feeder or a seasoned seed slinger, you’ll learn how to attract the right birds, keep out the uninvited guests, and spot your new winged neighbors up close. Then, spend 30 minutes exploring the sanctuary’s bird feeding stations, testing your new skills with provided binoculars, and identifying the winged wonders who stop by.
